Halloween. What a day?! We had such a FUN day in 3rd grade!
I wouldn't have wanted to spend my Halloween with any other group of 8 year olds! Take a look at some of the activities we did today to CELEBRATE learning (and Halloween).
I'm so incredibly proud of these kids! Not only did we have a super great day, the students SUCCESSFULLY completed their first nine weeks of third grade! That is soooo huge! Nothing beats seeing successful students at work! These students want and thrive for success! I'm so thankful to be the teacher to this group of students. Wow, wow, wow. Talk about life change.
Other awesome things this week:
My students are THIS awesome. They came up with most of these astonishing adjectives!
I wouldn't trade this life for anything in the world. Living the 3rd grade dream every single day.
Until next time...

Today was a day FULL of multiplication! We have kicked off memorizing our facts, and everyone in the class has mastered their 0's and 1's! What an accomplishment! We learned a rap today to help us with our 2's times tables:
Rappin' our 2's
2, 4, 6, 8
Who do we appreciate?
10, 12, 14
We're learning by skip counting!
16, 18, 20, 22
We know our facts now how 'bout you?
Oh yeah--there's just one more, we can't stop til 24!
Stay tuned for more raps from Miss Fincher's class! :)

3rd Grade Living: Monday, October 28
Today... What a GREAT day in third grade, as always! The students were so excited about starting their multiplication tests. Everyone has passed their 0's and is ready for their 1's tomorrow! It's so exciting to see the students get excited over multiplication. Like we say every day--Multiplication is EASY!!!
The beginning of the 1st nine weeks has already come to an end, and we are off to an incredible start to the 2nd nine weeks already! Our class is FULL of talented students! There are pictures below that show off their hard work and cooperation!
Funny moments of the day:
1) Halloween is right around the corner, and the students have got wrapped up in telling Halloween jokes, which puts a perfect twist in our day. Nothing like a good laugh with your students! :) Why does a witch wear green eyeshadow? It matches her teeth! ....EWWW!!!
2) During science, I was teaching directional vocabulary (left, right, up, down) and I gave the example, "He went to the left." Right after this, the whole class (including me) started singing the song by Beyonce that says, "To the left, to the left, everything you own in a box to the left!" What a great moment of comic relief!
Teaching third grade couldn't be ANY better! :)
Completing a math project in groups... teamwork makes the dream work!
Reading two books at one time... pure genius!
What one of the groups has been doing in Guided Reading... with a thick chapter book! :)
